Vessela Chakarova is a lecturer, tutor and community project and internship programme coordinator at AUC.
Currently, she teaches International Political Economy and International Relations Theory and Practice. In the past, she has taught courses on Globalization, Research Methods, Introduction to International Politics and International Migration at universities in the United States and the Netherlands. She has also worked for the Enlargement Directorate of the European Commission.
Besides her teaching, tutoring, and programme coordination activities, she is currently leading two educational development projects: one on streamlining research methods education in the social sciences and the other on diversifying the International Relations curriculum. Vessela received her PhD (2010) in International Political Economy from Old Dominion University and MA (1999) in International Relations from Sofia University. She is the author of Oil Supply Crises: Cooperation and Discord in the West (2012).
