Semester start dates, holidays and class-free weeks

Each 16-week period includes three class-free weeks. AUC differentiates between a proper break, a reading week and a wrap-up week. During these weeks, no classes take place, and the AUC building is open according to an adjusted schedule (Monday to Friday, 08.00 to 18.00).

The AUC Academic Building will be closed on the following days:
Please note: The university, including UvA and VU, is closed (and there are no services) from Thursday, 25 December 2025 to Thursday, 1 January 2026. AUC staff will be working remotely and can only be reached digitally from 22 through 24 December 2025.
