This activity is only for Mentor Group 16
Experience the charm of Amsterdam East on a guided tour led by the International Office! Discover your new neighbourhood during this walking tour including highlights such as the Tropenmuseum, Oosterpark and the vibrant Javastraat. You'll be immersed in the neighbourhood's rich history, art and buzzing cultural scene, along with a delicious lunch at the Salsa Shop.
During this session, you will be introduced to the courses that are at the heart of the AUC programme: the Academic Core. Dora Achourioti (Head of Studies, Academic Core) will explain what the core consists of, which courses are required and what skills you will learn by taking these courses. Dr. Joost Krijnen will then take over and discuss the role of the Board of Examiners and important rules, regulations and your rights when studying at AUC.

In this session, the Heads of Studies for the Sciences, Social Sciences and Humanities will highlight the most important things for you to know about your major, the subjects you'll study and the course options within them. You should attend the major session for which you applied to AUC.
A wide variety of AUCSA student committees will be participating in the committee market to help you discover even more AUCSA and Amsterdam initiatives. The participating committees will give a short pitch and/or sample activity to give you a sense of what they do and how you can get involved. This will take place around the Academic Building and you can visit alone or with friends.
After a day full of information, you'll have time to sit down and reflect on the first couple days of Introduction Week with your mentors and mentor groups during dinner. Your mentors will take the lead on organising the dinner and location, so be sure to ask them for the details.
Wrap up the second day of Introduction Week with a(n optional) drink at student bar Maslow. Located just across the street from the AUC academic building, AUCSA will be there along with some of your mentors to continue mixing and mingling.
