Introduction Week: 28 August 2023
Programme for Day 1
You can find the series of events and activities, including descriptions and locations, for the first day of Introduction Week below.
All incoming first-year students who have received an ASF Scholarship will be invited to attend a welcome lunch before the official Introduction Week starts. ASF students will receive more information by email with the location.
Check-in with AUC staff members outiside of the AUC Academic Building. Let us know that you've arrived, gotten settled and are ready for Introduction Week by registering your attendance. When you register, you'll also be reminded of your Mentor Group number and the name of your tutor. You'll need to know these for the activities throughout the rest of the week.
Location: AUC Academic Building (Science Park 113, 1098XG Amsterdam)
For these activities, you'll be split into sections according to your Mentor Group number. You will be informed of your Mentor Group prior to Introduction Week beginning and during the check-in.

Activity descriptions
Official Welcome to AUC [plenary session]
Prof. Martin van Hees (Dean, AUC), Dr. Marianne Riphagen (Director of Education, AUC), Huan Hsu (Senior Tutor, AUC) and other AUC faculty members will host an official welcome and introduction to the AUC programme to cover need-to-know topics that will help you have a smooth start at AUC. Please note that this presentation will take place at Lab42, which is across the street from the AUC Academic Building.

Meet Your Mentor Group
At this point, you will meet your AUC Mentors and mentor group. These are current second- or third-year AUC students who will guide you through the activities for the rest of the week. The best source of knowledge for being a student at AUC, feel free to ask them any questions you may have about the programme or residential life!
Relax and join fellow first-year students under the tent outside of the AUC academic building for an informal meet and greet to conclude the first day of Introduction Week.
