University Maker Camp is a new small-scale programme extending from late summer to mid-autumn whereby you - as a participating high school student - will be immersed in the Amsterdam University College (AUC) campus, get to tour science labs, practice creative expression and design, and explore your own career ambitions. You will be led in activities and excursions by an international group of AUC Bachelor’s students, many of the activities and interactions will therefore be in English.
Then sign up for University Maker Camp and start designing your future!
The programme kicks off with a summer mini-camp from 16 to 18 August from 10.00 to 16.00 at Amsterdam University College (Science Park 113, video tour).
After the summer mini-camp, you will stay in contact with other participants and AUC students via biweekly excursions and brainstorm sessions, followed by another three-day mini-camp and festival during the autumn break. During this second phase, you will team up with other participants to design and realise projects which explore your academic interests. The University Maker Camp programme will culminate with a festival of inspirational activities, special guests and presentations of the student participants' own projects.
The programme is meant for students who are now completing 3-5 vwo or 3-4 havo, and the choice of courses (vakkenpakket) does not matter for participation. Participating in the programme is completely free and lunch will be provided during the two mini-camps. Aspiring first-generation university students are especially encouraged to apply.
