Abstract

Ageism is the most widespread and socially acceptable prejudice today. In some countries, negative attitudes towards aging have created a culture that is literally toxic to older adults, leading them to have sicker, lonelier, and shorter lives.  In this interactive seminar, learn why ageism has such a strong impact on health and well-being and how we can work together to combat this silent killer through policy, education, and inter-generational interventions.

Jane Driver, MD, MPH, an Associate Professor of Harvard Medical School, is a geriatrician with over 20 years of experience in research, clinical innovation and education related to improving healthcare for older adults.
