Abstract

Dr. Hilla Dayan, AUC lecturer and current Remarque Fellow at NYU, and Cameron Patel, a student at NYU active in the movement for solidarity with Palestine, will address the chain of events that led to the erection of the encampment at NYU. You will hear about students' first-hand experiences and struggles. They will then analyse the university's response to students' civic engagement and raise the issue of university response to the broader context of the war in Gaza, and a global crisis of democracy. Following their presentations, they will open the floor for discussion and questions from the audience.
