AUC no longer accepting applications for September 2025

AUC is no longer accepting applications for September 2025. Prospective students looking to apply for admission to AUC starting in September 2026 will be able to find the online application form on this section of the website starting in October 2025.

  • Late application deadline: 1 May 2025

Please note that the late application deadline has passed. AUC is no longer accepting applications for September 2026.

The late application form was open until 1 May 2025. All late applicants needed to submit their complete application before 1 May 2025, 23:59 (Central European Summer Time, CEST) to be considered for a September 2025 start.

All recommendations must be received by 8 May 2025
Ideally, all recommendations should also have been submitted by 1 May 2025, but recommenders have until 8 May 2025 (23:59, CEST) at the latest to submit recommendations for late applicants. If recommendations are not received by this date, the application will be considered incomplete.

  • Decision on admission in first week of June

After the late application deadline has passed (1 May 2025), our Admissions Office will begin the review process, and you can expect to hear a decision on admission in the first full week of June (2-6 June 2025).

  • Eligibility criteria for the late application round

Prospective students were eligible to submit a late application (until 1 May 2025) to start at AUC in September 2025 if they met all of the following criteria:

    • Applying as a Sciences, Social Sciences or Humanities major
    • Are a national or permanent resident of (and have a passport and/or permanent residence permit from) an EU/EEA country and do not need to apply for an entry visa or residence permit
    • Meet AUC’s admissions requirements (be sure to check the maths requirements per major)
    • Had not previously applied to start at AUC in September 2025 for the early-bird or regular application deadlines

More information about the deadlines
  • Advantages of applying for the early-bird deadline

First offers made to early-bird candidates

Applications of early-bird candidates are considered first and decisions on admission (including acceptances) are issued in the first week of February. For regular applicants, their applications are reviewed in February with any offers of admission being issued in the first week of April. Since there is no limit on the number of early-bird candidates we accept, those applying for the early-bird deadline have a better chance of receiving an offer of admission to AUC than those who apply for the regular deadline as the first round of offers will have already been made by the time regular applications are reviewed.

  • Additional conditions for the late deadline

AUC offers a late application deadline to provide some flexibility for students who may need more time to make informed decisions about their choice of university and to offer applicants a chance to apply for potential spots that may still be open in the cohort for a given year. The application form for the late application deadline will open on 1 March 2026.

Additional criteria for the late application deadline

The late deadline at AUC has some additional conditions, including:

    • The student cannot previously have applied to start at AUC in September 2026 for the early-bird or regular application deadlines.
    • Due to important immigration deadlines, the applicant is required to be a national or permanent resident of (and have a passport and/or permanent residence permit from) an EU/EEA country and will not need to apply for an entry visa or residence permit.
    • The application may only be open to certain majors. The majors that students can apply for will be announced on 1 March 2026.

Fewer offers made for the late application deadline

Please note that far fewer offers are made in the late application round, and it will not be open to all majors. If you're considering to apply to AUC, we highly encourage you to apply for the early-bird or regular deadlines in order to have a better chance of being accepted.

More on admissions at AUC

  • Online application procedure explained

    Applying in Embark

Applications to AUC are completed and submitted using the online application system Embark. Please note that you should not apply to AUC using Studielink. While completing your application, you can log in to Embark and access it as often as you like, but remember that you must complete and officially submit it before AUC can process your application for enrollment.

When submitting your application, please double-check to make sure it is complete and all requested documents have been included. The Admissions Office will not contact you should there be information or documents missing from your application. Incomplete applications will be rejected and applicants have only one chance to apply per cycle.

    Batch processing

AUC processes applications in batches. Applications from those who apply as ‘early birds’ (meaning you have submitted a complete application before 1 December) will start to be processed in the first week of December and decisions on admission will be issued in the first week of February. Applications for those who apply before the regular deadline (meaning you have submitted a complete application before 1 February) will start to be processed in the first week of February and decisions on admission will be issued in the first week of April. Applications for those who apply for the late deadline (meaning you have submitted a complete application before 1 May and meet the additional criteria) will start to be processed in the first week of May and decisions on admission will be issued in the first week of June.

As a selective programme, AUC aims to admit 300 students per year. All applications undergo the same process of evaluation. For more information about our policy on admissions and the application process, please see the links below.

  • Transfer of credit

If you are currently studying at another university and wish to transfer to AUC, you should submit an application for admission to AUC and follow the same admission procedure as a new student. Should you have credits from another academic institution that you would like to have count toward your studies at AUC, you will need to officially request a transfer of credit. Please note that this request will be evaluated separately from your application for admission and is submitted using a separate form and procedure.

Don't base decision to enrol on receiving transfer credits

Please note that transfer of credit requests can only be processed when an applicant has already submitted a complete application for admission to AUC. The request for a transfer of credit and all necessary documentation must be received before 15 June to be considered. Prospective students are strongly encouraged not to base their decision to enrol at AUC on the expectation of receiving transfers of credit to replace certain courses, a semester or a full year. Applicants should understand that they may not know until starting at AUC whether credits from previous studies will count toward their degree programme. For more information on the possibility of transferring credit, including a link to the transfer of credit request form, please follow the link below.
