He is an Assistant Professor at the University of Amsterdam and a teacher of Mathematics at a secondary school in Amsterdam.

His main current interests are (early) adolescent behaviours, in particular relationships between popularity, social dominance, bullying and victimization, and social and academic behaviour. He is also developing a theoretical model that incorporates adolescent behaviours in an evolutionary psychological framework.
