He earned his PhD in statistics at the University of California, Davis, after completing an MA in Mathematics at San Francisco State University. Before that, he taught mathematics at secondary schools in San Francisco for a number of years. He is interested in developing computational methods for statistical applications in the sciences, and mathematics education at all levels.
