Maurits holds a PhD in dynamic social network analysis from VU Amsterdam’s Faculty of Social Sciences (Departments of Organisation Sciences and Social Research Methodology & Statistics). He co-coordinates community projects and internships and tutors students across all majors. Beyond AUC, he trains colleagues for the University Teaching Qualification at the University of Amsterdam’s Learning and Teaching Centre. Off-campus, Maurits is a professional (pastry) chef who approaches cooking the way he teaches research methods: with patience, precision and a healthy dose of curiosity. He is known to grade fairly and frost generously.
