Who's in Town
Economic and monetary union is one of the centrepieces of the European project. It has experienced a challenging decade marked by a financial, Euro, and pandemic crisis. Its politics, whilst contentious, have been ultimately committed to the project, creating new innovations to recover from each shock. So where does the EU economic policy response to the COVID-19 crisis leave the monetary union? Is it sufficiently fit to emerge stronger from the shock? What are the different philosophies on how to complete it? And what is at stake for the ECB?
