Many students choose to spend a semester abroad during their second or third year. AUC has direct exchange agreements with renowned universities around the world in addition to the global partners of the University of Amsterdam and European partners of VU Amsterdam.

Opportunities for AUC students to study abroad

AUC students are encouraged to study abroad and around one-third of students take the opportunity to experience a different country, culture and university. Students from AUC attend a variety of destinations, including many European universities and internationally renowned universities such as Boston College, National University of Singapore, University of Melbourne, University of Toronto, McGill University, Yonsei University and the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Students may apply to study abroad for a semester during the second semester of their second year or first semester of their third year.

AUC has a strong international network consisting of highly ranked research universities and prestigious liberal arts and sciences colleges around the world. AUC students can also make use of the University of Amsterdam’s Global Partners and the Erasmus network of VU Amsterdam. A list of AUC's own partners, UvA Global partners and VU Erasmus partners are available below.

*Please note that VU destinations are not automatically open to AUC students. To search for destinations that would be of interest, AUC students should select the VU Bachelor's degree that is most representative of their focus at AUC. If the Liberal Arts and Sciences degree is chosen, only the destinations to which AUC students have gone to in the previous semester will appear.
