Ydwine Zanstra teaches Basic Research Methods and Statistics I and II and Psychology at AUC.

After completing her Master’s degree in Psychology at Groningen University in The Netherlands, in 2008 Ydwine obtained her PhD in Health Psychology at the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Following her PhD, Ydwine held a two-year position as a postdoctoral scholar at the University of Pittsburgh, where she conducted research on stress and the brain and received training in the fields of neuroanatomy, functional neuroimaging and cardiovascular epidemiology. During her undergraduate studies and her PhD, Ydwine taught a variety of undergraduate courses.

After having worked at the social Neuroscience Lab at New York University, she taught Methodology and advanced statistics at VU Amsterdam. Ydwine joined AUC in August 2012 as a tutor and a lecturer. Additionally, as an Outreach Coordinator, she develops policy and practice in relation to diversity and student social engagement. In her free time, she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts / Design at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. Ydwine is interested in the intersection between Education, Psychology, Neuroscience, Creativity & the Arts.
