Eric Bartelsman co-teaches the courses Introduction to Social Policy, Fundamentals in Micro- and Macroeconomics, and Global Economics at AUC. He is Professor of Economics and Chair of the Economics Department at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam. He has a B.S. in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and received his PhD from Columbia University. He served as economist at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington DC, as advisor to the CPB, Netherlands, and as Head of the Economic Research Department at the Ministry of Economic Affairs in the Netherlands. In 2007 and 2008 he was a member of the Netherlands Council of Economic Advisors (REA). His research focus is on the sources of productivity growth, both from a micro and macro point of view. Bartelsman is a Fellow of the Tinbergen Institute and IZA Bonn.
