Eddy Van der Borght teaches Religion and Violence at AUC since 2017. He holds a PhD from Leiden University (2000) and is Desmond Tutu Chair on reconciliation at the Faculty of Theology at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His research focuses on how faith communities understand their own identity and functions, especially in relation to socio-cultural identities, on leadership in faith communities, on contribution of faith communities to reconciliation, and last but not least, on the relationship between religion and violence.
