Dan Leberg teaches courses in the Film track of AUC’s Humanities programme, including Introduction to Film Studies and Film Analysis. He completed his PhD in Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam in 2018 with a dissertation on screen acting and empathy, and holds an MA (2010) in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto. Dan taught at the University of Groningen’s Centre for Journalism and Media Studies and the Arts, Media, and Culture department from 2017-2019. During his PhD, Dan was a graduate student writing tutor at the University of Amsterdam’s Writing Centre and the Programming Coordinator for the Cinema Politica Network, the world’s largest exhibitor of political documentaries. His most recent publications address motion capture (“mocap”) acting, Shakespearean film adaptations and racial performance in parodic rap music videos.
