Moving away from the former platform, Embark, will directly align the admissions workflow with standard higher education procedures across the Netherlands, making the process of applying and enrolling more straightforward for incoming students.
Under the updated system, candidates will follow a straightforward two-step process:
The new procedure will make the AUC application process easier to manage. As Studielink is used by many degree programmes in the Netherlands, applicants applying to multiple Dutch programmes will no longer need to follow an entirely separate registration process for AUC.
Once registered through Studielink, prospective students will be able to manage their AUC application through UvA SIS. The system will provide a central place to submit documents, complete outstanding tasks and track the status of their application. Applicants will be able to see which steps have been completed, which documents have been received and whether any further action is required. The system will also notify applicants of any missing information or documents, helping them ensure their application is complete and ready to be processed.
While AUC is a joint programme of the University of Amsterdam and VU Amsterdam, all application and enrolment procedures will be managed through UvA systems. After accepting their offer and completing their enrolment, students will automatically be registered at VU Amsterdam, further simplifying enrolment at both institutions.
