The threat of nuclear weapons and what you can do about it

06Nov2019 14:00 - 15:00

Lecture

Nuclear weapons remain the most destructive weapons ever designed. Weapons designed to devastate cities, to annihilate armies, and to vaporize populations. Nuclear weapons are things that we tend to think of in the abstract. We tend to think that only politicians or governments can do anything about them. Nuclear weapons disempower us. But, we can actually do something.

Speaker:

Susi Snyder, one of the leaders of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize-winning International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) brings hope back to what seems like a hopeless conversation on nuclear weapons. She will speak about the power of bringing democracy back to disarmament and how every single person can do something impactful to bring an end to the threat of nuclear weapons.
