During AUC's Open Day, you will be able to learn all about the AUC academic programme through diverse information sessions, and speaking directly to lecturers, tutors, admissions officers and students! As we still need to be cautious about keeping our community safe during the pandemic, we will be hosting a larger online Open Day on 11 November, and a small-scale, on-campus Open Day on 13 November for those living in the Netherlands.
|Start date||11 November 2021|
|End date||13 November 2021|
You can sign up to receive an email reminder when registration for both the online and physical AUC Open Days becomes available. This is usually around one month prior to the event and will include an update on scheduled activities for each.
The AUC Open Day offers a look at what it's like to live and study at AUC. As we still need to take coronavirus measures into consideration to keep our community safe, we'll be dividing our Open Day into a digital version (taking place on 11 November) and a small-scale, physical Open Day at the AUC Academic Building on 13 November for those living in the Netherlands.
Both versions of the AUC Open Day begin with an introduction by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Martin van Hees, to help you get acquainted with the AUC curriculum and framework of the academic programme. This is then followed by presentations from current students to offer insight into what social life is like at AUC outside of the classroom, including the various activities, initiatives and clubs you can get involved in. An alumni representative concludes this introduction by discussing which graduate programmes AUC students go on to study, which career paths they follow and popular areas of employment.
Both the physical Open Day and digital Open Day continue with a variety of meet and greets, scholarship information, informal presentations and opportunities for one-on-one chats with students and staff. Humanities, Social Sciences and Sciences, the three majors at AUC, will all be represented by core faculty members and students studying those majors to help explain the majors, themes, fields of study and how you build your curriculum at AUC.
An Open Day isn’t only about academics but also gives you a sense of life outside of the classroom and what makes AUC a community. This also includes how students incorporate experiential learning such as internships, community projects and studying abroad into their time at AUC.
For a look at student social life, the AUC Student Association asks committee representatives to highlight the various social clubs and initiatives students partake in with examples and some sample activities. Finally, you can conclude your Open Day experience by joining a tour (in-person and online) of the student residences!
If you have any questions about the AUC Open Day, please feel free to send us an email at email@example.com.
We look forward to meeting you on Thursday 11 November online or Saturday 13 November 2021 in person at AUC!
