We offer an international liberal arts and sciences bachelor programme that crosses the boundaries of languages, cultures and academic disciplines. As a selective and residential honours college we attract students from all over the world. They engage on a daily basis in intensive and small-scale seminars with our high calibre international staff. Discussions start from the “Big Questions" in science and society and lead to in-depth study in a wide range of disciplines.
Substantial emphasis is placed on the sciences, including interdisciplinary themes such as: Health and Well-being; Energy, Climate and Sustainability; and Life, Evolution, and the Universe.
A commitment to excellence, diversity, and the global perspective defines and drives AUC. The AUC Scholarship Fund supports the diversity in the student body with generous support from the international business community.
Amsterdam University College (AUC) was established in 2009 as a joint excellence initiative of the University of Amsterdam and VU University Amsterdam. The AUC programme enjoys funding and support from our founding universities, the VU University Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam and is sponsored by the Ministry of Education’s Sirius Programme for Excellence in Higher Education and the Amsterdam Top City Fund of the City of Amsterdam.
