Ham, Lia van der (MSc)
Lia van der Ham teaches International Public Health at AUC. She studied Psychology at the University of Amsterdam and International Public Health at the VU University Amsterdam. Her research interests focus on (global) mental health, patient perspective, migrants and participatory approaches. She recently completed a research project on the wellbeing of female migrant workers from the Philippines and developed a course on drivers of change in global health at the VU University. She currently coordinates and lectures several courses on international public health and research methods in the Bachelors of Health Sciences and Biomedical Sciences and the Master specialization International Public Health at the Athena Institute of the VU University Amsterdam. She also works as a researcher and lecturer at the department of Medical Humanities at the VU medical centre.
