Andeweg, Bernd (Dr.)
Bernd Andeweg teaches Big Questions in Science at AUC. He studied Earth Sciences at VU University Amsterdam and finished his PhD in Tectonics in 2002, a collaboration between VU University and Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Spain). During his PhD, Bernd started teaching geological field courses in SE Spain and the Ardennes and continues to do so. Apart from lecturing in Tectonics, Report writing and Structural Geology at VU University, he teaches high-school teachers in geography and is involved in many projects with high-schools. Outreach is one of his main tasks, Bernd initiated many public projects and is one of the few geologists in the Netherlands appearing in the media to explain geological fenomena. His prime scientific interest is neo-tectonics, structural geology and landscape-development; several BSc and MSc students have been involved in this research.
