Amsterdam University College,Science Park,AUC lectures

Working with important themes such as science, entrepreneurship and sustainability, all three Science Park based initiatives are adding something unique to the campus. The event was organised as an official introduction of AUC students and staff to those working with these initiatives and vice versa.

New concepts coming to Amsterdam Science Park

To kick-off the afternoon, Leo le Duc, director of Amsterdam Science Park, explained how the “Connectable” tables are a symbol for his job as director and gave the audience insight into the future plans in store for Science Park. Erik Boer, director of the Startup Village, explained the concept and plan behind his own project, what kind of startups are being invited to join the Village and expressed his keen interest in having AUC students involved in various ways. Finally, Marleen Feldbrugge gave described how Anna’s Tuin will look in the near future, including the ideas behind the overall design and how it will not only become a beautiful addition to public space at Science Park, but also an area that includes educational opportunities, such as a permaculture garden.

Networking opportunities

Following the presentations, AUC hosted a lunch where all parties were able to get better acquainted and exchange ideas on their projects and where cooperation may be possible. All of the organisations presented interesting opportunities for AUC students that included internships and community projects, as well as more practical knowledge which could benefit the AUC curriculum such master class or experiential learning possibilities.

AUC would like to thank both the organisations involved and the student community for being part of such a productive afternoon.
