Backlash: the worldwide war against women by fundamentalists and the "alt-right"

15May2017 18:00 - 20:00

Lecture

In many parts of the world, women are being oppressed and attacked in very similar ways. This occurs in an era of an unprecedented rise of women, due in the first place to the very rapid spread of education. Women’s emancipation has provoked a backlash among those who fear that male supremacy will come to be undone. This lecture will examine the factors that have led to these developments and consequences of such trends.
