Plantage Muidergracht 14

While its new academic building in the Science Park is under construction, AUC will make use of a historic building at Plantage Muidergracht 14 as its academic building.

The building at Plantage Muidergracht 14 was originally constructed in the late 19th century as a training school for maritime engineers and technicians, and is a registered monument. More recently it has been used as office space by the University of Amsterdam, but it has retained much of its historic and educational character.

The building has been renovated and restored to its educational function for AUC, with the underlying idea of facilitating both organised and spontaneous interaction: How we meet, How we inspire, How we learn and interact, How we deliberate, How we study and reflect.

The building is located on a quiet street in the Plantage district of Amsterdam, with a small public park in front, and looking out over a canal at the back. It has excellent public transport connections, and is easily reached from the AUC student residences in the Science Park.
