Modern units

The accommodation in the student residences is a mixture of single units (one student) and shared units (two or three students). Some shared units are two- or three-room apartments, others are large open-plan spaces. All units have a kitchen corner and their own bathroom (toilet and shower).

If you are offered a place at AUC and you accept it, you will be placed on the list to pick your room in the DUWO room selection system in May. DUWO, the student housing association that runs the student residences, does its best to accommodate student preferences, subject to the availability of the different types of unit. It is not possible to allocate single units to all students. However, you can request to move to a different unit at the end of your first year.

Meals are not included in the accommodation costs: there is a café in the Academic Building where you can buy snacks, lunch and drinks, but otherwise you will be expected to prepare your own meals.

Examples of student rooms

View the images below for examples of actual AUC student dorm rooms. Please note, these pictures are only meant to give an impression of what the residences are like. Since the rooms are not identical, actual rooms may have a slightly different set-up than those pictured. The rooms are equipped with a floor-covering and curtains, but the rest of the furniture/decorations have been obtained/purchased by the students themselves.
