AUC students are expected to start at AUC with good skills in mathematics. For students invited to study at AUC with gaps in their mathematical skills, AUC together with the Korteweg de Vries Institute offer a summer mathematics course to address these deficiencies.

- Introducing probability, general rules of probability.
- Binomial setting and binomial distribution, binomial probabilities.
- Expectation, variance, rules for functions of random variables, all for discrete distributions.
- (if time permits): some calculus subjects concerning functions and differentiation.
