FAQ: What is AUC's academic calendar?

Academic year 2010-2011

AUC's academic year will run parallel with that of the VU University Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam.

The academic year, and classes, start on 30 August 2010.

The autumn semester is 20 weeks long, divided into 16 weeks (30 August 2010 to 17 December 2010) before the winter break, and a 4 week intensive period in January (3 January 2011 to 28 January 2011). The winter break is therefore 18 December 2010 to 2 January 2011.

The spring semester is also 20 weeks long, and is divided into 16 week classes which run from 31 January 2011 to 27 May 2011, followed by a 4 week intensive period from 30 May 2011 to 24 June 2011.
