Experiential Learning at AUC

At AUC, courses are not limited to the confines of the classroom. In the spirit of a liberal arts and sciences education, field work, site visits and first-hand experiences are essential in observing how theory relates to practice. For this reason, many courses at AUC integrate external visits and experiences into their curricula in order to challenge students to critically assess and actively reflect on the links between broader academic concepts and observed realities. From the Hortus Botanicus in Amsterdam to zones of conflict in Kosovo and beyond, below are just some of the examples of experiential learning AUC students have the opportunity to partake in throughout the year.
