AUC academic calendar
Semester start dates, holidays and class-free weeks
AUC's academic year runs parallel with those of VU Amsterdam and the University of Amsterdam.
Academic Year 2023-2024
The AUC Introduction Week 2023 will take place from 28 August 2023 to 2 September 2023.
Semester 1 is 20 weeks long, divided into a 16-week period (4 September 2023 to 22 December 2023) and a 4-week period (8 January 2024 to 2 February 2024).
Semester 2 is also 20 weeks long, divided into a 16-week period (5 February 2024 to 31 May 2024) and a 4-week period (3 June 2024 to 28 June 2024).
More information on holidays and building closures for the 2023-2024 Academic Year (including the dates of the class-free weeks in the autumn and spring semesters) can be found via the link below.
During these weeks, there are no classes at AUC, but the AUC Academic Building is open.

3 February 2025 – 7 February 2025
Reading week:
28 April 2025 – 2 May 2025
Wrap-up week:
26 May 2025 – 30 May 2025
